About 8 years ago I received my first digital camera. I think the ease with which to learn and see immediate results provided an avenue to take pictures without worries of a botched roll of film. Add in a few new babies into my life and a teaching practicum and I exploded with my picture taking. I may not have always knew how to get the right light or achieve that special softness, but I could frame a subject and create a story and style all my own. That's what's great about photography! It's art seen through the photographer's eyes and each one will have a new perspective, and style. I am still perfecting mine.
Thus, 3 point and shoots, and a range of mega pixels (2.1 to 9.1) later I am now the proud owner of Canon's 60D (18 mega pixels, if that gets you going in the morning).
I must say I am very motivated to learn, but have small bouts of doubt when faced with other photog friends that are so much more skilled in their wares. But I hope to get there some day, and perhaps, just maybe be good enough to use as a side profession. Until then, watch out kids, family, neighbors, and friends; Megan's got a camera! And I do mean to use it.
